Bonnie Thompson

Executive Producer

Bonnie Thompson is a veteran Canadian producer working through her company, Dreaming Bird Productions. She collaborates with filmmakers and producers on documentary, animation, and interactive projects. A producer of numerous acclaimed productions, her work has screened nationally and internationally at festivals, on television, and across major streaming platforms.

Her projects have received multiple prestigious accolades, including nominations for an Academy Award and an Emmy, as well as nominations and wins at the Webby Awards and Canadian Screen Awards. In 2006 she won the Genie Award for Best Documentary feature for the doc “Radiant City” and was honoured with the TIFF People's Choice Award all for the feature doc “Angry Inuk”. She spent over 30 years at the National Film Board of Canada and was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Alberta Media Production Industries Association in 2018. Most recently, she received the prestigious Don Haig Award at Hot Docs in Toronto in 2023.
