Producer/Executive Producer
Mitra Knight is an Iranian-Canadian Bahá’í producer with a global perspective, shaped by extensive work and travel in the Caribbean and Africa. As a producer at 1844 Studios, she brings a strategic, project-driven approach to filmmaking, drawing on over 20 years of experience in business leadership and project management across the private and public sectors.
Holding two master’s degrees in management and leadership. Mitra has led large-scale international initiatives, notably, she served as Project Director for the $31 million Strengthening Distance Education in the Caribbean (SDEC) project, funded primarily by the Canadian Government, which expanded post-secondary education access across the region.
At 1844 Studios, Mitra has produced multiple films, including, the award winning animation, “Abu & Mo: Two Orphans” (Edmonton International Film Festival); “My Lyric I Never Knew” (American Indian Film Festival; CBC GEM), “Precarity” (Telus Optik), and the upcoming feature “When I Was George”.
With a passion for international storytelling, Mitra is dedicated to producing impactful films that bridge cultures and spark meaningful dialogue.
